We would be happy to explain what we are doing for you here
the plant sizes used dimensions and abbreviations:
10/15, 15/20, 20/25 etc. till 300/350 | These are generally length specifications and indicate the size of the plant in centimeters. In exceptional cases – for example in the case of plants that are primarily growing in width – this size specification then relates to the width.
Spindle | A somewhat difficult term; this can best be paraphrased as “tree-in-becoming”, i.e. the plant already has a certain length and mostly a continuous main shoot, but is still quite young and thin. The current size (for example “rod 150/200”) is almost always given here.
Half-trunk | These are usually woody plants that have been grafted onto a more or less short trunk. Mostly the trunk length will be 100 or 120 cm, with the crown on top. Shorter or longer trunks are sometimes also possible, depending on the type of plant. In this case, the size specification for a half-trunk of 100 cm in length would be DT100.
Unbranched trunk | These are trees with an unbranched trunk with a length of 180, 200 or sometimes 220 cm, with the crown on top. The abbreviation HT is almost always followed by an indication such as 10/12, 12/14 etc. This is the trunk circumference (not the diameter!) In centimeters, measured at a height of one meter. As a rule of thumb, the thicker the trunk, the older the tree and the larger and wider the crown.
Pot | In this case, the plants are in a pot and do not come from the field. Often the pot size (for example C2, C3, C5 i.e. 2, 3 or 5 liter pot or P9 for a small perennial pot) is also given. The size of the plants is not shown in detail, but you can ask if you are interested. In general, the bigger the pot, the bigger the plant.
B/L or “limited supply” | The supply of the plant in question is usually small. In this case, it is advisable to pre-order.
-/- or “sometimes available” | The stocks of these plants are always very small. Pre-ordering is practically always necessary. But the fact that this plant appears in our webshop means that we may know a source for it. On the other hand, if a plant cannot be found in the webshop, we are also not aware of any source. |
